- From 1,491.97 lei per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.0Superb - What previous guests thought, 659 reviewsClean atmosphere and surroundings, super comfortable room , great view outside, creative glass/treehouse. All sorts of toiletries, bathing gowns, slippers, umbrella, torch, and lots of towels were provided too. A beautiful bunk bed was there too. Extremely good staff. Kind, cooperative, and at our service. A car drops and picks up from the treehouse and vice versa. Lavish breakfast and customised service . Staff coming and inquiring if we needed something. It was season end, with very few guests still the staff was attending us and made customized food, even with the lavish buffet breakfast. Rakas restaurant ❤️🎈 We got an early check-in and late check out. Thanks to Elisabetta, Sofia, Krystal, Buddhini, Theo, Habib, and the restaurant personnel. Will surely visit again 😊Guest review byHimadriFinland
- From 988.36 lei per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.8Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 610 reviewsA Magical Stay in Lapland Our stay at this cozy one-bedroom chalet was unforgettable! Surrounded by snowy forests and offering stunning views of the northern lights, it was the perfect winter escape. The chalet was well-equipped with a crackling fireplace and an excellent sauna. The staff went above and beyond, and the traditional Finnish wood-smoked sauna with the invigorating outdoor cold plunge was a true highlight. We even spotted reindeer wandering near the cottage, adding to the magic! The staff were warm and helpful, offering great tips for local activities. A big thank you to the staff at smoke sauna for motivating me to jump into the cold plunge pool :). If you’re looking for a peaceful and authentic Lapland retreat, this is the place to stay.Guest review bySanjaAustralia
- From 1,262.45 lei per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 8.7Fabulous - What previous guests thought, 676 reviewsIt is an exceptional thing to sleep in an igloo. Each igloo room has its own character and different theme. They were all designed but different artists so it is interesting to visit them all. It was not cold at night in the sleeping bags and we all slept sound. Nice sauna. Kota restaurant is also good. There is an ice bar and ice restaurant. They have ice slides for kids and an exhibition of ice sculptures. The staff is exceptionally friendly and nice - all of them: from the girl who was showing us around, the barman in the ice bar, waiters in Kota and all the receptionist. We asked to be waken up for norther lights and they woke us twice for the beautiful night aurora show. Pleasant breakfast with good selection .Guest review byGabrielaGermany
- From 1,647.77 lei per nightScored out of 10, guest rating 9.2Superb - What previous guests thought, 205 reviewsThis is probably, the nicest, most unique stay that I have ever had. The setting of the igloos is breathtaking, the actual igloos are so comfortable and well appointed. There is nothing to describe lying in a cosy bed looking at the stars, or opening your eyes to an orange glow across a frosty lake. Breakfast was brilliant, so much choice, although I did discover that seems to be standard in Finland. It is a beautiful, peaceful and calming environment. Oh and the staff were wonderful, nothing was too much trouble.Guest review byFranUnited Kingdom

Summer trip to Rovaniemi: Lapland was in a heat wave which held us back a bit as it was rather humid. We enjoyed Arktikum very much, went swimming in the river, walked in the Arctic Gardens and explored the town centre. We planned some hiking but it was hotter than we expected. At end of July, sunset around midnight for only a short time, which is cool.Guest review byLynleyNew Zealand - 8.0
Saariselka is a wonderland in winter.
Saariselka is a wonderland in winter. You can easily get all the required things such as food from K-market. There are lots of activities you can do in Saariselka such as skiing, snowshoeing, Ice Karting, bowling, Aurora Hunting tours, etc. You can easily reach here from Rovaniemi City by using public bus. There is a Ski bus that runs between Saariselka village and Saarselka Ski resort. I did my beginner ski lesson here. It was great. I spent my Christmas holidays here and most things are available to do. I did my skiing on Christmas day itself.Guest review byPankajIreland - 10.0

We went at end of March, still plenty of snow and the lake is completely frozen but temperatures around 0. Was ideal for the kids who spent days in the snow! We saw the northern lights (had to stay up till 2am for a very lucky gap in the clouds but was worth it). The Sami museum there is excellent and we did some guided tours, was fascinating to see the Sami culture and way of life past and present.Guest review byJamesUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Kilpisjärvi in winter is a magical experience.
Kilpisjärvi in winter is a magical experience. The village is located in the far north of Finland, in the heart of Lapland. It is a popular destination for winter activities such as skiing, snowmobiling, and ice fishing. The area is also known for its stunning scenery, with snow-covered forests, frozen lakes, and the majestic Saana fell. One of the highlights of a winter trip to Kilpisjärvi is the opportunity to see the Northern Lights. The village is located in an area with minimal light pollution, making it an ideal place to view this natural phenomenon. The Northern Lights can be seen on clear nights throughout the winter, but the best time to see them is during the darkest months of December and January. Kilpisjärvi is also a great place to experience the Sami culture. The Sami are the indigenous people of Lapland, and they have a rich history and culture. There are several Sami villages in the area, and visitors can learn about the Sami way of life by visiting a reindeer farm or a traditional Sami market. Overall, Kilpisjärvi is a wonderful place to visit in winter. It is a great destination for those who want to experience the beauty of Lapland and enjoy a variety of winter activities.Guest review bySujoy GoswamiNetherlands - 8.0
Small town by the sea.
Small town by the sea. The icebreaker, SAMPO, is the attraction of the town. If you are not interested in sailing in the iced sea, walking on the iced sea and floating in the sea, you needn't come here. I bought some pretty clothes in a small shop in Kemi. How happy!Guest review byMs.China - 10.0

I do ski (downhill) but would not ski in Jan/early Feb in Levi because of the poor light. However it is a great village to visit and not ski if you like winter walking or other snow based activities. The restaurants are very good and characterful if you choose wisely.Guest review byStephenUnited Kingdom - 10.0
Ivalo itself was cute.
Ivalo itself was cute. Not too touristy, much quieter than places close by and everyone so friendly with a well stocked supermarket. Not too many places to eat but it depends what you’re looking for. As a young family, it was perfect for us!Guest review byJenniferHong Kong - 10.0
Enontekiö is a large area in north east Finland, and it is...
Enontekiö is a large area in north east Finland, and it is mostly void of people, which is excellent. There are a few villages, like Hetta, commonly called Enontekiö, where you can find everything you need. Enontekiö boasts many of the most dramatic sceneries in Finland, like Saana and Halti fells, in the 'arm' (Käsivarsi), and palsasuot (permafrost-hill mires). It's excellent for hiking, berry- and mushroom-picking, and visiting one or more of the many national parks and Sami sacred places at hand. In Hetta, we stayed at Ounasloma for the 4th time. It is a family-owned holiday cottage business, which provides actual fully-furnished houses with sauna, and the lakeshore is just next door, boats and bikes are at disposal. We had our own food, but one evening we grabbed burgers and chips from the local grillikiosi (opposite k supermarket and alko), and not only was the lady very friendly, but the kioski sells bare necessities and the burgers are huge and excellent. I only wait to go back, discover more of the nature around, and maybe finally climb the Saana fell, which was foggy (and therefore very dangerous) when we were there.Guest review byPia-IngridSwitzerland - 6.0
We were in Muonio in the summer time.
We were in Muonio in the summer time. It was difficult to rent a boat for fishing. There are little tourism activities in the summer. After 5 nights with fishing, riding a bike and a small hiking, we had explored the area. I think, Muonio is much more interesting to visit in winter time.Guest review byYvonneSwitzerland
