The location is central, and our host was incredibly sweet—she helped us with everything we needed. The hotel is spotlessly clean and feels brand new; it really makes you feel special. After a long journey, the most valuable thing for a traveler is being able to check in early, and we had been on the road for 10 hours. By around 11 a.m., our room was already prepared. I recently had the pleasure of staying at this fantastic hotel in Kallithea, and I can't recommend it enough. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible, taking care of every detail with genuine warmth and care. Their proactive approach truly set the tone for a relaxing holiday—they were always one step ahead in anticipating our needs. The hotel itself is impeccably clean, with a modern and stylish design that made for a luxurious atmosphere. Our room was spotless and the pool area was a sanctuary when choosing not to be at the beach during peak heat. Location-wise, it couldn't be better. Just a short walk away are some of the most stunning blue-star sandy beaches where the water is crystal clear and perfect for a swim. The hotel is also conveniently close to the heart of Kallithea, allowing for easy strolls into town to explore its charming shops, restaurants, and vibrant atmosphere. Overall, this hotel strikes the perfect balance between comfort, service, and location.

Anne a Mare apartments exceeded all my expectations. From the moment I arrived, I was struck by the impeccable cleanliness the modern and luxury appeal that permeated every corner of this establishment. The rooms were an absolute delight – not only were they spacious and tastefully decorated, but they were also spotless. Modern rooms with kitchenette and a huge TV, toilet and shower rooms are separate which makes the showering even more enjoyable. The pool area was another highlight of my stay. It was maintained with the utmost care. The pool looks luxurious with modern sunbeds and sun shades and a pool bar next to it so you can enjoy your drink while taking a dip. However, what truly sets this hotel apart is the warm and welcoming owner. Their genuine passion for hospitality was evident in every interaction. They went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was enjoyable, having a drink with us talking about local restaurants and things to see in the area, offering late check out, inviting us to use the pool even when we checked out and making us feel welcomed throughout our stay. Lastly, the location of this hotel is also excellent. Nestled at the entrance of Afitos it allows easy access to the city and the lovely beaches in the vicinity although i am sure spending a day or two at the pool relaxing is an excellent option as well. In conclusion, my experience at this summer hotel in Afitos was nothing short of exceptional. The unwavering commitment to cleanliness, the inviting pool area, the gracious owner, and the excellent location all contributed to a truly memorable stay. I can't wait to return at this hidden gem of a hotel.

Mainland Greece at its Best

A 3-pronged peninsula to the south-east of Thessaloniki, Halkidiki is best known for its rolling scenery, beautiful beaches and good watersports.

The westernmost prong is the lively Kassandra peninsula. Sani on its west coast is backed by a pine forest and has beautiful sunsets. On the opposite side, Pefkohori’s fantastic beach and calm, shallow waters make it a popular choice for families. Polichrono and Kalithea to the north have a good selection of Halkidiki hotels on the beach, while Afitos has a picturesque Old Town with cobbled streets.

On the quieter Sithonia peninsula, Metamorfosi is a small village with a Blue Flag beach, while Neos Marmaras has a pretty harbour offering boat trips. On the eastern side Vourvourou is very popular and has lovely views of the offshore islands.

An island just off the Mount Athos peninsula is Amolianí which has rocky coastline and wonderful beaches. Across the water is Ouranoupoli whose small fishing harbour is guarded by a 14th-century tower. On the main part of the Halkidiki region, Stavros and Olympiada both sweep around picturesque bays dominated by the lush Cholomontas mountains.

    You rarely find a hotel that makes you want to return, but Ammouda Villas is one of those rare places. As Hotel Manager Yannis mentioned, if you stay at Ammouda Villas once, you'll want to come back again. And it's true—we were very pleased with our stay at Ammouda Villas. The location is excellent. It is situated on one of the most beautiful beaches of the Sithonia peninsula. The Ground Floor Villa we stayed in had its own private sun beds, which provided a great deal of comfort. You can go to the beach at any time of the day and use your own private sun beds. The house has everything a family with children might need. The cleanliness is top-notch. Ammouda Villas has a large organic garden, and hotel guests can use the products grown in this garden for free. In fact, you can pick any vegetable or fruit you want yourself. You can have fresh vegetables for breakfast every day. Every kind of vegetable you could think of for breakfast is available. There are many nice restaurants close to the hotel. You won't have any trouble finding quality food. And most importantly, the hospitality. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. The most special person is the hotel manager, Yannis. Yannis is very helpful in every aspect and establishes a close and sincere relationship with you. We are also very grateful for the surprise treats he provided us every morning.     Nikiti is an ideal town for families with children, especially those aged 1–12. Everything is within walking distance. The beach and sea are perfect for kids, and the restaurants are family-friendly. There are also toy machines for children to play with. However, it might be a bit boring for young couples without kids, as there aren’t many entertainment options such as night clubs or disco bars.

    The place is suitable if you are visiting Greece on budget. It is very crowded and it s a nightmare to find a parking spot. We visited few traditional tavernas( Ouzeri Las Pas,Villa Ella ( has live music) and had very tasty greek dishes :tzatziki , Greek salad, fried zuchini, fried white bait, aubergine salad, grilled sardines, stuffed peppers, chicken souvlaki. The prices are reasonable.

    A wonderful place right on the shore of the azure Aegean Sea! Our host Ivan was exceptional – always ready to help with advice or organize a restaurant reservation, yet discreet and unobtrusive enough to make us feel completely independent, just like at home. Upon arrival, we were greeted with a fruit basket – a kind gesture from the host. The cleanliness and order of the place immediately stood out. It is truly an oasis of peace and enjoyment by the sea. The water is crystal clear, and the beach is beautiful, lively, and full of different attractions. Evenings in Kallithea offer a wide variety of restaurants, bars, and clubs where you can have a wonderful time. Thanks to this place and our host Ivan, we had a truly amazing and unforgettable holiday!

    After spending 10 days I am sure about I will never go back...

    After spending 10 days I am sure about I will never go back to Neos Marmaras. Very noisy and crowded beaches, a lot of people during the night shopping. We went to Platanitsi Wild Beach on daily basis (50km from Neos Marmaras) to avoid this nightmare.

    It very beautiful calm place where you can go as well as with family also with group of friends or even by yourself. There many places to see and enjoy. Beautiful beaches and tasteful restaurants nearby. Perfect place to relax and regain your strength!

    Polychrono is a small town with an excellent promenade and sunset views. There is a large choice of tavernas and restaurants. In the evening it is bustling with shops, bars and children's activities. There's a really good variety of shops for browsing.

    This is a beautiful town and the people there are very friendly and will to help where is possible. To get the best experience while visiting it would be advisable to rent a car as there are some amazing beaches in the surrounding areas that are not accessible unless you take a taxi or rent a car

    Highly recommend the beach with Cavo Nissos beach bar - low/medium price range, nice sunbeds, large capacity, good food and service, sand is nice and clean; and Sahara Resort beach bar - medium to high price range, it has a regular and VIP(needs a reservation) areas, the sand is finer and even cleaner there, good service and food.

    Sarti is a lively tourist destination, but it can feel crowded and noisy, especially for families with young children. There are plenty of attractions for kids, such as toy stands, small rides, and rental cars designed for children, which can be fun but also create constant distractions. However, the lack of pedestrian zones and proper sidewalks makes walking around less safe and comfortable.

    Nice beaches nearby (we explore them by Paddle board but there are also 600 boats to rent for a day trip). The city beach is not blue water and seems more like a lake, but there are many other possibilities at the place.
