Great place to to admire the imposing landscape of the Douro River. The host makes you feel at home as soon as you arrive with a glass of porto. Very cozy, clean spaces and the staff was attentive and friendly. Varied breakfast and tasty snacks in the afternoon.

Octant Douro located in Vista Alegre, Castelo de Paiva. Offering a stunning infinity pool the hotel overlooks the Douro River blending itself with the surrounding nature. The view from our room was amazing. The staff were amicable and professional. We took the boat tour on the Douro, which was relaxing and scenic. We would definitely go back again to the Octant Douro.

Overlooking the scenic Douro River Valley, Quinta da Casa Cimeira, Guest House, Wines & Food is set in a historic country house and surrounded by a garden and vineyards. The place is fantastic, better than we expected! Great staff and warm welcoming, they service us their homemade excellent port when we arrived. The room is very spacious and charming with elegant antique furnitures, great atmosphere! The dinner was amazing! Great food and wine, they were very kind to serve us with another pre-drink of port, lots of great red wine during the dinner and with a 40years port after dinner. Breakfast is also nice and fresh! Quinta Vilar e Almarde offers rustic-style accommodation in Castelo de Paiva. The location was remote but perfect for a getaway. Lovely gardens and swimming pool. Local village about 10 minute drive away with a number of restaurants available. Staff were very helpful and friendly.

Offering an outdoor pool and hot tub, Douro Suites is situated in Baião in the Norte Region Region, 43 km from Porto. The accommodation boasts a spa bath. Guimarães is 41 km away. The view is amazing. Basically every thing looks great, you feel tranquil all the time. It was perfect. We upgraded to the premium room so it was wonderful.

It’s a 800 year old building but in pristine and very chique furniture & design. It has recent expansion and it is top quality walls, bedroom & bathroom. The view from rooms, lounge, patio, pool, and dining room is pristine like a painting. The owner and those that work there are incredibly friendly, kind & accommodating. We felt like they were family’s The dinner, wine & desserts were top of the line. I highly recommend the place and if ever visiting Portugal, will stay again!
