Conveniently located, few minutes walk from the main station and Matsumoto castle.

Located in the historical Shibu Onsen district, 渋温泉小石屋旅館 offers both private and dormitory-style guest rooms as well as an on-site restaurant where local dishes, wines and craft beers are available. Great location at the heart of ryokan alley, very hospitable hosts that can shuttle you from the Yudanaka Station to their place free of charge (prior reservation needed), nice cozy restaurant with kotatsu (very relevant when it is cold), comfortable ryokan with lots of space and a gas heater. The host was shinning and always smiling, it gave us good mood for two days. Also she helped us out with the reservation for the onsen and gave us a ride to that place and brought us back in an hour. Shibu Onsen Koishiya Ryokan are the best and we will definitely stay here if we ever come back to Japan again. ps we also left some chocolate from our country and asked them to pin it on their big wall in their cafe. we hope you liked the chocolate!

Nice and clean rooms. Generous breakfasts and dinners with daily changing menues - the wagyu meat was especially good! Private spa with finnish sauna, steam bath, onsen water, cold bath, outside area and even a massage seat and included drinks was bookable for a small fee. Free coffee and tea available in the lounge (tea also in the room). Convenient shuttle service to the train station.

Oshi Ryokan ligger blot 5 minutters gang fra den historiske Togakushi-helligdom og tilbyder traditionel indkvartering i det fredelige bjergområde, der brugte til pilgrimme. Felt instantly comfortable and at home. Beautiful old building. Wonderful staff and food!

Yudanaka Onsen Yamazakiya ligger blot 10 minutters kørsel fra Snow Monkey Park og tilbyder enkel japansk indkvartering med gratis WiFi. We stayed at many ryokans on our trip. None came close to Yamazakiya. The host family are friendly beyond belief, always smiling, always helpful. We got a free pick-up from the train, drop-off to the train and round trip to the snow monkey park. The place is cute, we had a huge room with fluffy, comfy tatami beds and a sitting area. Everyone got yukatas to wear around the house. It's a small place with two private onsens and we were easily able to book both for an hour for our group of four, giving us the chance to try two different rooms. We had messaged ahead to book dinner (good English spoken), a vegetarian option was no problem and my, what a treat we got. It must have been 10+ little courses, fine dining at its best. All around, highly, highly recommended! If you enter through the front door, don't forget to take a stroll out the back door - it leads straight onto the village's main street, filled with many cute, ancient houses.
