Firstly, the position of the property overlooking a UNESCO 1500 year old basilica, a stones throw from great restaurants and on a cobbled courtyard was breath-taking. Secondly, the rooms were clean, immaculate and comfortable but the best thing was Alessandro, the owner. With all taxis in the town busy, he arrived in his car to drive us to our cruise terminal. His kindness and generosity to put his Saturday plans on hold in order to ensure we met our embarkation time we will never forget. Thank you!

The appartement Casa Vacanze Ca' di Lucchini in the tiny village of San Benedetto is a genuine gem. In the family owned house from late 19 th century, Stefano and his family have refurbished the appartement to tip-top modern standard We felt at home imidiately. On our arrival we were very well received in a personal and friendly manner by the host, Stefano, and his grandson. All though he was short of english and we only knew a handful of Italian words, we managed to communicate very well. During the stay we also spoke to his wife and brother - all of them lovely and warm people. The appartement has a personal touch, and is beauitiful decorated with a mix of mordern art, cozy decoration and old antique furniture. It has enough space for a family, and it was spotless clean and very well equipped for a long stay. The beds were very good, and gave us good nights sleep. And to top it of, the value for money is outstanding. The village is some 15 minutes drive off the A1 from Fiernze to Bologna, but its more that worth a detour if you are looking for a stop over, or want a base for exploring the area. Highly recommended.

Big bedrooms, big bathrooms (there were 2 full baths)! Beds were very comfy. Ample sized living room. Eat-in kitchen was well stocked with coffee and tea, and milk/water/juice to get us started. My son and I lived so comfortably during our stay. If you need your own space during travels, this is the flat for you. The location was great too. 15min walk to the city centre. PAM Local supermarket was just around the corner. Alessandro was the best host: he was very attentive, and even came to the flat to explain to me how to drive my rental car to avoid being fined for driving in the low emission zone!
